We’re thrilled to be heading back to Yorkshire for a special weekend of dining. Across two evenings and both days of the festival we’ll be serving tasting menus and sharing plates that dramatically showcase some of the best produce from the Malton Food Lovers festival and beyond. It’s been over a year since our last event in Yorkshire and we’re ready to come back! Read on…

Our co-founder Danielle is from near Malton and has this to say about coming back up North, “Yorkshire will always be special to us at Chateau Marmot because we ran our first event here in York. Malton was always one of my favourite towns when I was growing up too, it’s a beautiful area full of great produce, we can’t wait!”

Chef Sam Hodges will be in charge of the kitchen, taking time out from his current position as one of the head chefs for Soho House in London. Before that he learned his craft at the acclaimed St John, developing a passion for preparing the best British ingredients in innovative ways that perfectly aligns with Chateau M’s style.

The restaurant will open all day on both Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday menu will be built around sharing boards, like mini tasting menus exploding with the colours and flavours of the best festival produce. Sunday will be ‘Lunch at The Chateau’ a four course Sunday lunch with a difference; we’re not talking meat and two veg here. Sunday will also feature a talk from acclaimed Yorkshire author and Independent/Telegraph nature journalist Rob Cowen.

Each evening will be different, served by candlelight in the stone arches of the beautifully restored Town Hall, reservations essential. Friday night will feature a five course tasting menu created by Sam and his team plus live music. Saturday night is the festival gala dinner, a collaboration between Chateau M and BBC’s Incredible Spice Men where festival headliners Cyrus Todiwala and Tony Singh will add some of their spice magic to Chateau Marmot’s cooking, as Tony explains, “We’re looking forward to working with Chateau Marmot and getting really creative with spices on the best Yorkshire produce we can find, it’s going to be a night to remember”

Every bit as much attention goes in to the drinks list, with amazing independent wines at fair prices wines chosen with the help of the Marmot’s sommelier, ex-Decanter editor Rosalind Cooper as well as a full list of ales, craft beers, signature cocktails and soft drinks.
